Hydro to Cable...searched.
Hey I know this has been asked before and i'll get flamed for this but I dont care. I want to swap my hydro trans for cable trans. If you guys have read any of my last posts Im wokring on a d16a6 build and I have the trans which is in better shape then my hydro (93 civic dx) and on top of that I love the feel of cable. Can I just swap the trans and pedal and then run the cable, or do I need some crazy conversion kit? Everything I read when I searched was about swaping the tranny guts between the two and the pedal assembly. Let me know guys.

To be completely honest with you, switching to a cable tranny will cause you much more grief than buying a good condition ex hydro tranny. best of luck though

Re: (Idiotboy)
Dont know what else to really tell you. I got it when I put my LS motor in my 93 EX. All I was able to get a hold of, and afford, was a cable LS tranny, so I bought the conversion kit. Took me some getting use to because I had only driven Hydro vehicles up until that point, but it did what it was supposed to do! I used it for about 1 1/2 years, then came across a good deal on a GS-R Tranny with only 31K on it, the kid wanted a turbo for it so I offered him one of my Saab turbo's and he said deal. So the kit has just been sitting around for about a year now getting no use. The mount that mounts the tranny to the chassis has a polyurethene insert, and will work with a D-series or B-series tranny. Again, I got it from the company Enjo.

You would need a kit, but honestly they feel like **** because they still employ the hydraulics on the car, but invert/reposition the slave cylinder and it feels like ****. Also it's next to F'ing impossible to properly bleed the clutch hydraulics because the bleeder is pointing straight down, which is retarded.
Do yourself a favor and simply buy yourself or rebuild the hydro tranny you've got.

Well put man, yeah I looked into the kits. They look kinda mickey mouse if you ask me so......I have a ton of work still to be done on the motor so that comes first. Also, if any of you guys know a shop that assembles short blocks in the Milwaukee area give me thier number, my guys backed out.
