cable to hydro conversion
I have a B16 with a cable to hydro conversion on it I was just wondering if there is anything I should know about this when I do the swap. I think I know how it install it but I dont know for sure. I know what some of you are going to say "go get a hydro trans" I will one day but right now I dont have the cash to do it. Thanks for any help I hope to have the swap done next week some time. If you have any pics of this installed I would love you for ever and ever LOL!!!!!!!

Re: cable to hydro conversion (4drsleeper123)
i had that setup in my car for a while...i used a place racing mount made for cable tranny into a hydro car. do you have the plate that holds the cable that mounts on the firewall?
also you need a cable pedal and i had to cut a hole on the top of my gas pedal bracket to allow the cable to go through and attach to the pedal. you will also need to remove/splice together the wires for the neutral saftey switch...
you also need a cable half shaft and drivers side axle, the hydro splines are different that go into the tranny and you will leak tranny fluid. then, i am told that cable linkage will not work on a hydro transmission but i am unsure of this...
hope this helps

there is nothing wrong with b16 cable tranny's. the feel is definately better with a hydro, but the b16 cable tranny have close ratios that are great for racing. daily driveablity is a pain sometimes. youll be doing a lot of shifting.
