Howcan you tell if an ECU is bad? Car still not running.
If the car still cranks up, throws codes, could it still be that the ECU is bad and doesnt work right?
I still can't fix my car and well, im on the verge of just selling it because I dont have time.
It's still sputtering and dying out and burning too much fuel. I've changed out the FPR and still nothing.
Could a restriction in air, either on the exhaust side or intake side, cause the motor to burn fuel more or cause the sparkplugs to turn black faster?
I can't figure out why it would be burning so much fuel. Am I correct to say that the ECU has nothing to do with regulating fuel at all? What else would make it do that?
Maybe a bad head? I dunno man. I got the car back home fine with the CX motor still in there, and now with this EX one in it doesnt run right at all. I was going to put this obd0 crx motor in that I bought.. but I just want to try one more time before I do that.
The ECU is throwing codes 1 and 41. o2 sensor warnings. But even still, I drove my 93 four door around with the same motor throwing the o2 sensor codes and it ran fine. Im going to try and fix it when I locate a damned o2 sensor but I know that's not what's wrong.
I say it's burning to much fuel because after letting the car run, not moving it, with new spark plugs in... the tips are black. GAAAH.
Motor - D16z6 with p28 ECU.

So do you even have an O2 sensor hooked up? Without an O2 sensor, how do you suppose the ECU is going to do fuel correction....it can't, so it runs on the richer side to be safe.
How long have you been driving around with these codes?

It's throwing 1 and 41 like I said.
I drove around in my other car without an o2 sensor and it ran at least.
This car isn't running at all but I've been doubting that it's the o2.
