Default How to remove WHOLE ABS unit?!!

hey people, i was just wondering if anyone has ever done this before? i have a 94 si so abs was standard with it. i really have no use for abs and my abs lights almost always comes on. so from my point of view, i'd rather take the whole damn thing off. has anyone ever tried this and will it affect my regular breaking system?

The best way to do this is to buy the entire braking system for any cx or dx and i think even vx or you can get one from a 92-93 si hatch or an ex, basically you will need everything from a non abs car. you will need all the brake lines except for the lines that run under the car to the rear, you will need the brake proportioner, master cylinder assembly, the 2 lines that run from the booster to the proportioner, the 2 lines that run to the front two brakes, and alot of time (unless the motor is removed..this makes getting the lines out alot easier.) If you want to also remove all the power wires you will basically need to take your whole car apart. If you want to you can go look under your hood, dash, carpet, and hatch, and every plug you see that is orange has to do with ABS. This is alot of work and unless you really want to do this I say don't go for it, I learned the hard way.

Is there anyway to put a switch on the ABS system so I can turn it off and on? If there is, can someone explain where I need to tap from to do it?

It's been done multiple times. But, why would you want to? ABS improves braking distance when activated, unless you're on gravel.

Sometimes I just wish it wasen't there. But for the majority of the time, I would keep it on because of safety reasons. But for when I'm playing around, I would like a switch to turn it on and off. Do you know how?

Why do that? You can turn the abs off by riding around for about 15 seconds with your emergency brake slightly pulled up (to the first or second click).

Well, yeah.

The ABS sensor can also be interrupted by a switch, which will effectively disable ABS.

I don't recommend this crap. You can kill yourself without ABS.
