Default How to know for sure that a Shock is damage?

I currently have someone selling used Tokico shocks.. and I want to know if they are or not in good condition. Is there any test I can do to the shock to be sure they are fine?

there should also have some resistance when you push down and should push up automatic

check for leaks, push down (you need to remove the springs) on it all the way if you can and see if all shocks go up at similiar speeds. if it is too hard to push down the shock is gone.

i guess he ment to say if its not hard to push its gone meaning blown. The harder to push the more sportier it will ride. Hence being able to set the rebound on adjustable shox
