how to identify the trim kit on my hatch

how to identify the trim kit on my hatch
I was told it was a cx, but there are no badges on the car and i was wondering if there is a way to tell for sure. Isnt there something in the vin number that might tell me.

check the engine code to be sure. also cx cars didnt come with any side molding or any power options. You guage cluster will NOT have a tach IF its a Cx also. Thats a good place to start.

a/c and pwr steering, etc are options, so that will not tell you, if its the original engine check the code,
cx are 8 valve... dx and^ are 16 valve

I thinks others have said this, but just for the record i have a 94 CX with side molding. So don't use that for a reference. VIN# is the best way to go!
