how do you remove the main shaft bearing?
so i ripped apart my tranny to see what was making the grinding sound when i was driving, opened it up and all the ball bearings fell out everywhere. my main question is how do I take the main shaft bearing casing out without damaging anything? also is there a bearing on the other end of the main shaft because when i wiggle it it seems like it has alot of play, is that normal?

Find all the bearings and the inner ring. Get some JB weld, and re-assemble the bearing as well as u can.
THen get the bearing puller, heat the outer ring, and give it one good wack!
IF u mess up then the worst is it comes apart i had to do this twice before i got it out.. oh and any play in a tranny bearing isnt good. Replace it.
hope this helps.
