How do you remove this bolt that holds the flywheel?

Default How do you remove this bolt that holds the flywheel?



What tool do you use to remove these mounting bolts?

I know it ain't Torx screws heads.

Just regular 12 point sockets, i believe this one is a 14mm, but i could be wrong. But you definitely just use a regular 12 point socket.

damn i never knew there was a special tool to hold the flywheel lol. whole time i been holding the crank pulley with a 19mm haha

17mm 12point socket... i just finish putting mines on and now taking a break... be sure to put on a healthy dose of LOCKTITE... dont ask me why but i found out the hard way

hold the crank? what cha mean? i will be installing a clutch and flywheel soon. Any more tips?

If the motor is in the car you will need to hold the crank pulley with a ratchet. Or else all you will do is turn the crank. If it's out the ratchet will wedge itself against the floor.

Have somebody take another ratchet with a socket that'll hold the crank in place while you break the flywheel bolts loose.

yes, please use some locktite. 3 of my flywheel bolts backed out at the dragstrip and I had to make it back home with ONLY 3rd gear for 60 miles. I also got a flat tire on the way.

Haven't been back to the strip since.

I called my honda dealer and talked to the head mechanic about this elusive "honda crank pulley tool" and he said he had never heard of it. Where did you get yours?

i got the moroso one.

which loctite did you use? red/blue?

i have the moroso one, which doesnt fit as tight as it should. A lot of play in it, but it still works.
