how do you get the code for 99-00 Si radio??

how do you get the code for 99-00 Si radio??
i was told by honda that i need to take the radio out get the cereal # off the radio and give them my vin # and then theyll call honda to get the 5 digit code..cant i just give them my vin number # or do i have to take out the radio??

ok..well actually its a pain for me L0L..i tried pulling out the black peice under the radio and it just wont come out and i dont wanna break anything..any suggestions??

I just took my car to a dealership and they looked at the vin # on the windshield and told me my code.

i actually had that same problem a few weeks ago. i took the dash appart and everything, but couldnt get the radio out, so the dealership had me drive it over there and they got under there with a mirror and got the serial # with that. so try doing that, and if it doesn't work, i'd take it into the dealership and see if they can get it.

thats funny that you mention that cause my friend said the same thing get a dentist mirror or something and try and get it that way..

u just have to take off everything from the armrest area all the way up. Then it should come out, me and my bro did it back when he first got it. And i didnt kno shyt about that, but we still did it. u cant just take the one black thing out, u have to take it all out from the armrest up, or the stickshift up. Then it should come out just fine!!

i tookmine to the honda dealership that i bought my si from and they did it for me in like 20 min no charge eather

damn, my dealership was gonna charge me $60 just to get it out and get the code. so i took it appart myself and they got the code free of charge.
