homemade turbo kit. Can be done for as little as $500 (or so I have read...I personally wouldnt run a turbo kit that cheap unless I got the hook up on some good parts for SUPER cheap)
To me, that is the best bang for the buck. You can do minor bolt ons but you wont FEEL a significant difference unless you go all out, in which case it doesnt sound like you want to. You can get a turbo kit and run 7spi all day and have fun with that

Send your throttle body to maxbore. Either that, or find another TB and send it to him, and then swap them.
New Intake Manifold. Highflow Cat/Test pipe.
And the best thing to do that will make you faster. Take some weight off the car.
Otherwise you're gonna have to pay and get to the internals. Headwork is expensive, and no matter what you do you're not gonna get much more than a mid 14sec car probably unless you go all out. Even then, you're looking at maybe 160whp.
Best way to go would be to piece together a nice turbo kit. Honestly, there's no reason not to.

Also i ran into this problem because i originally had a 2000lx with cold air intake and muffler and i wanted more power. instead of turbo or nos or engine work i finally just saved up for a h22a and swaped it in. belive me this is the best way to go you will be much better off then the other power making mods

You can pick up a used one for a lot less than that. I picked up one for $550 still in decent shape. In all I've spent just under $750 for my entire setup down to the gauge pod and extra gauges.
You can piece together and entire turbo kit for about the same price, and it should give you more power, but you'd need to get rid of your header.
All it really takes is a bit of research.

your question is verry vague, which is leading me to belive that you havent searched.....so use the "search" option to look....but i'll cut you a break.
cams work verry well, look for skunk2 or OBX cams...make sure you get the milder ones not to have to upgrade your valvetrain. new higher compression pistons by JE work well aswell and a thin headgasket will also raise compression. last but not least, a hondata intake manifold gasket will keep the air from the intake cooler allowing "more" in due to density. this is all VERRY general, just search on the all-motor forums.

for u to gain a significant amount of power from a d16 and keeping it n/a will get pretty damn pricey really you wont notice much of difference with that engine no matter what you do, unless you boost it. I myself have the same engine except mine is a y7 (non vtec) im just gonna swap it out for a b16 once it goes, hope i helped at all. You could also bore it out and get internals.
