Default horn wiring

looking at a 2000 civic cx horn setup it has only one horn and it is right behind the grill. the horn it self has a wiring harness going to it and it looks like 2 wires into it. isnt this horn grounded from the bracket itself is so what are the 2 wires going into it? if the horn is not grounded by the bracket like some other horns then is the second wire a ground? what color is what and as in which color is ground and which color is power? all and any information on this would help out alot.

well one should be for positive and another for ground. trial and error or if you have a test light see which one has the 12v power

My EMT shows that a 00 Civic has one, blu/red, wire going to the horn. Power is sent to that wire from the horn relay, and the horn is grounded to the chassis.

I checked outside on my 99 Civic and that is exactly how mine is wired up.

If you have a 96-97 Civic, there should be 2 wires going to the horn. One of these supply the power, and the other goes to ground. The power wire is wht/grn, and the wire going to ground is blu/red.

theres 2 types of setups, one is the hot wire going to the horn and the bolt that holds the horn grounds it and the other is 2 wires one hot and the other grounds on the steering wheel when you push the button. i think the 2 wire type has no relay, also the horn is wired into the brake light crcuit, thus its fused with the same fuse. to find which is positive, jump the wires from the connector on the horn (while its still plugged in) and if it blows its hot.

My airbag blew so i replaced it with a MOMO wheel, and i drilled and mounted a temporary button on my lower dash, so i easily reach under my dash for the horn, coming directly from the horn and through the firewall , i luv it
