hood doesnt shut.
my stock radiator is keeping my hood from closing. the top bracket on it hits the hood when it closes. has anyone experienced this? the previous owner would just slam it shut so it has 3 small dents, but i'm trying to think what i could do to fix it.

Re: hood doesnt shut. (EGhatch33)
they prolly had to replace it or got a junk yard rad.. And didnt put it back in all the way.. i would take it back out and make sure its all the way in place like the bushings arent getting stuck or maybe its the wrong rad.. either way you can mod it.. If it still dont latch the latch could be bent from slamming it over time
trust me i know.. i screwed up mine trying to run a g2 ls rad and it was too high

1 of 3 things..
1. wrong radiator/rad support
2. not installed properly
3. wrong hood/aftermarket hood, etc.
Take pictures, try to locate the problem - trust me, it doesn't come stock not able to close...

1 of 3 things..
1. wrong radiator/rad support- can't be the wrong support... i havent changed it...radiator was ordered for my exact engine (got a new radiator)
2. not installed properly- multiple people have looked at it
3. wrong hood/aftermarket hood, etc.- hood has never been changed. oem.
it just seems to be too tall. the old radiator had the same problem. like i said before the problem was there before i bought the car.
i'll work on gettin pics

Re: (EGhatch33)
cut the bushings dude.. theres lots of things you can do.. aslong as that **** is tight in there and not moving.. Your good is it still not latching ? the latch is fucked cause theres nothing else that would keep it from latching if its not hitting anything

u said it was for the same engine...is it for the same body?
hate to say it but it's one of those 3....it has to be, cars jsut don't come with hoods that won't close
Which could lead to #4 possibility, car was hit and something wasn't bent right (which sorta goes with the fact that it's not installed properly (#2), maybe ur latch is too far down, I'm not sure, but something is wrong, and it's under one of those 3 things I listed..

Re: (civicrida3)
same thing with my del sol and i just found out that the last owner bumped the cars front end ruining the alignment so the hood wont shut coz the hook from the hood and latch doesnt lock in place so what i did i cut the hook and took the latch off and just got hood pins even though i dont like it. looks better than what it was..
