Default Hondata limp mode problem ---any help would be terrific

My 93 hatch has been sitting for a year and a half , just got her running. Ran fine at my house. Trailered it to my buddies house . He put brakes, fluids and some other minor oparts on it for me. Went to start it, runs good but only revs to 3600 rpm(limp mode) Or as soon as it sees boost(Jackson)

My question is why would it just jump into limp mode like that. Anyone had a problem like this. Any pointers who be great. Anything that you can think of that we should check. I'm gonna go look at it this weekend so i'd like to have as much trouble shooting info as I can.

Thanks

Is the light on the interface box flashing or solid?

What Hondata are you running, and what minor work did your friend do for you? If your throwing a code, whats the code. That would help you the most.

I have the origanal little silver aluminum hondata box before the blue boxes. No light on box. Check engine light solid. Other parts were nothing engine/mechanical related.

tell us more about this ecu. solid light usually means dead ecu, bad program, bad grounds.

You say there was no engine mechanical work done and now your saying there is. Which one is it? And if work was done what work was it? Obviously something went wrong, if you tell us what he did we could help you, but if not i say take it back to your friend and have him go back his steps and see if he left anything undone.

Sorry if I sound like an idiot or if I confused you. All work done was brakes, fluid change, check cap/rotor, checked plugs and i think he put new wires on.

He double and triple checked the wires (order) and rotor placement.

Is there a way to reset the system to see if it goes right back into limp mode?

Does anyone have the diagnostic codes, the ones for the check engine flashes when we jump the diagnostic connector?

No light on the interface box means you have probably eaither damaged the interface cable or the ecu. Check continuity on each wire of the interface cable. You may need to go to a Hondata dealer so they can try troubleshooting by process of elimination.
