Hey Everyone! I was just wondering, I just purchased a 92 Honda Civic Hatchback VX. The reason I got the VX was because of the VTEC-E and the great gas milage its suppose to get. Looking over some pictures, a lot of the VX models, when showing the engine bay, the valve cover reads "VTEC-E", but, on the one I purchased, it only says honda. I just wanna know if there is anyway to make sure I got the d15z1 engine that gets the great gas milage. Did they have two different valve covers for that model? I've looked at a few differenty webpages, and all the webpages say the VX model gets the great gas milage because of the VTEC-E engine, and a lot of the pictures show the VTEC-E valve cover, so, I was just wanting to make sure I got the real thing. Thank you!

most of the ones i've seen also say vtec-e .... just check the VIN and title

The 92-93 came with the "Honda" vavle cover while the 94-95 came with the "VTEC-E"

Uh pop the hood and look at the engine code on the block? If it says d15z1 = vtec-e.

I purchased my 1995 VX (D15z1) new. It only states Vtec on the cover.

They probably change the valve cover.

i believe kaiba is right i had a 92 and it just said honda, so did a kids at my school, that vx was a 93 and i just bought a 95 d15z1 and it has the vtec e cover

Yeah 92&93 d15z1 have the black valve cover with only the "H" emblem on it. I have a 92 and its how mine is also.
