Vacuum leaks are easy enough to check. grab some carb or brake cleaner and turn your car on. when you have a steady idle begin to spray in or around any possible vacuum leak areas. if the idle goes up, you have a leak. if idle doesnt move and you have inspected all potential vacuum leak areas, you are good.

2nd thing I can try to help you with is does your car have IAC? Idle air controller? how bout the FITV? fast idle thermo valve? if so try taking them off and cleaning them also.

last but not least you can ground the pin on the firewall to reset your base idle. I dont know how to do it on your specific car, but look it up its everywhere.

also please give more info as to whwat you did with the car, was it running fine before then.

Ok thanks im going to look that stuff up it does have IAC and FITV. The headgasket blew outa no were about two weeks ago i started the car and let it warm up for about 20 mins before work and got in gauges read good for oil pressure and the car was just warm wideband read 14.8 so it was running good left to leave for work and I was almost to work and i hit 3rd at 3k and guy came up next to me shakeing his head and told me to look back and a **** load of white smoke. So I ripped the head off and took it to my machine shop had it pressure tested and decked and all good then the cam was toast the distributar end was missing part of the end non problem. Then distributar was bad then blown turbo bottom end got checked out and now we just got the new cam all tuned and all the valves lashed but now we cant fully time it cause it wont idle it will start up but go right up. Its fully built motor all eagle internals pistons rods crank its got custom ground stage3 cam and crower valves springs and rockers all adjustable and then gt37 turbo car ran good with the blown head gasket but not now lol
