High Idle in in EG w/ B16 swap just finished now have 3k idle
Can anyone possibly tell me what my problem may be. I just finished my swap today and put in a B16A3 into my EG Hatch. The problem is when I start the car the car stays at an idle of about 3k...now when I disconnect the TPR sensor sometimes it will drop to 2k but will usually go right back to 3k after sitting for a bit. I have tried almost everything and can't seem to figure it out.
A few things I am running that might affect this.
- Holley Throttle Body
- Professional Products Intake Manifold
- Running a P28 ECU? (not sure about this one just doing this til it gets chipped on sunday)
Has anyone ever had this problem, yes I have tried searching over and over and keep finding only low idling problems. The only high one talked about the screw to move the throttle body but that doesnt seem to be it. Took the intake off and made sure the throttle body was closed ALL THE WAY and still a very high 3k idle
PLEASE HELP
*edit* Did some more searching and noticed talk about the PCV valve, does anyone have pics of the PCV valve hooked up to the AEBS intake manifold maybe I did it wrong.

bad idle controll valve maybe? loosen it up and stick a piece of card board"from like a ceral box" and slide it in tighten the three bolts back down and start it up.i always had problems with this goddamn valve on my b16.i went through 3 of them in 6 months, never could figure it out.oh well a new motor is on its way as we speak.if that doesnt work i would assume a vaccume leak, take a can of carb and choke cleaner and start spraying all the hose connections,if it bubbles up or drops your idle uve found the leak.good luck

It's not your ECU though...most likely vaccum leak.

spray some carb cleaner or brake cleaner all around ur throttle body and intake manifold. if it sounds like it bogs out or dies down then u know u have a vacuum leak. check ur gas cable too. u might have put the throttle body gasket on wrong.

must be a huge vaccum leak

Re: High Idle in in EG w/ B16 swap just finished now have 3k idle (HomeBuilt)
check your volts on the tps. should be around 0.44-0.50 with it being close and open it should be around 4.50-4.85 volts. to adjust it, just rotate the sensor clockwise or counter-clockwise. if its hook up right u can start it w/out the throttle cable, and if it doesn't turn on that means the tps is out position or it needs to be replace. the wire u are checking is the middle one, there should be three of them in that one plug.

Well I have been checking everything and the last thing I can think of is the throttle body. Anyone know of a way to fix it so I can use the 70mm holley or is this just a bunk product.

another sugestion....check 2 see the wire harness. Did u buy it complete or was it cut?....if it was cut, i think you might have to get a new 1. Thats the same exact problem I HAD untill i baught a new wire harness.
