High idle after TB clean up.
Hi, HT crew.
Well... my momīs car was idleing real low. So, 3 days ago i disassembled the TB from the intake manifold to do a good clean up. I found that it was really dirty.
I used a tooth brush and some carb cleaner. I cleaned everything, I also disassembled one valve that goes bolted to the TB.
But... now the car is idleing at 1,500... steady. It remains at 1,500 and never goes lower than 1,000rpm.
I connected all the vacum hoses and installed a new air filter. Checked the tb cable, turned to the right the screw that is on top of the tb and nothing happened.
What could be the problem???

Re: High idle after TB clean up.
got a new throttle body gasket right?
sounds like the other thing you took apart was the Fitv.

this shows how to clean it and but back together correctly if you didnt.
look at #8 it shows how you should put it back in the right position.

Re: High idle after TB clean up.
your IAC might want a good cleaning or your tps sensor could be bad or need to be adjusted if you removed it to clean the throttle body.
The tps sensor need to be set at a set voltage on the throttle body, and should of been check before removing.

oh and an easy way to tell if this is what is causeing it is, while engine is running there is a hole on the bottom left just inside the TB, use your finger to block it, if the idle returns to normal then you know its the FITV...
