Default Help / Troubleshooting Advise needed!!! Thanks!!!

Hello Everyone,

Just had a situation where i wanted your advise. Have a 1996 Honda Civic EX and have 2 problems

One... a red SRS light has turned on on the dashboard? What is a likely reason for this and is it costly to fix? or neccesary to fix?

2nd... my speedometer just STOPPED working!!!!!
I started the car and the car was idling and the mph gauge went up to 35mph (although the car was not RPM very fast) and then it just DIED!! So now my speedometer and odometer are NOT working??? (tachometer DOES work).
Is this a cable busted, or simply a fuse, or ????? Is this expensive to fix??? Easy or Hard to fix?

I wouldn't be doing the work myself, as i am unfortunately not too mechanically inclined, but i appreciate your input and advice PRIOR to going to a mechanic, so that i have a heads up on what to expect and just want to make sure that we get a qoute that is reasonable.

Thanks in advance,
Your time is MUCH appreciated,

Adam

head to a dealer to get the srs light checked - check the vehicle speed sensor is still attached to the top of the gearbox for the speedo
