HELP! throwing 10 & 14, replaced both, switched plugs, still throwing 14!!
okay well a friend of mine just bought an ej1 with almost 250k miles on it but it has a new d16y7 long block..he got it for cheap and it was running but the Check engine light was on...its a d16y7 but it has the old stock d15b7 intake manifold/tranny/headers etc on it...but they did some wierd **** to it and when i went to check the codes in his car he had the 2 blue plugs as if the car is obd2? idk why they would convert it to obd2? but it was throwing a 14 ( IACV ) and 10 (IAT) so i had an extra iacv so we took his out and where the coolant lines went to it it was EXTREMELY corroded and blocked up so we let some coolant drain from the hoses and put mine on which was in perfect working condition. Reset the battery and the code was gone. Then we bought another IAT because his was blown and put it in and reset the battery and there was no code but when we turned on the car the engine light would come on again and it shows 14 IACV...we switched the plugs since they are the same between the two to see if that was the problem but even when we switched them it still threw only the iacv code.
we dont know what to do? any ideas?!
thanks!!!!!!!

The wires for the IAT are either Green/Black or Green/Blue and Red/Yellow. When you switched the wires, did you clear the code 14 to see if it would pick up the same code again?

When you fix the problem, pull the battery negative cable for a few seconds to reset the ECU.

He has the stock Im off his old d15b7 it looks like but he has a d16y7. They did some wierd crap idk how to tell if his car is obd2 but I think it's so wierd his interior harness has the two blue plugs like it's from an obd2. But we bought the sensor used and tried it on my car first and it's good. I have a tuned single cam map on my ecu that I could try on his but I haven't checked what he has but idk if he's even obd2 or not. but even if it was a different dseries non vtec ecu it shouldn't throw a code for the sensor right?

Yup with the blue plugs. Is that wierd what does that mean they converted the interior harness too?

No, I've got the two blue connectors as well on my OBD1 del sol. OBD2 is a big, maybe 20-wire plug.
