we dont know what we have to do for insurance or registration and things?
have any of you bought cars from someone else out of state....
do you know what
papers you need?
how to be insured on the way home?
and how it will be registured till you get back?

have a bill of sale filled out making sure both you sign it. then call your insurance company to let them know you bought a car and you want insurance on it.
then go to any local dmv office in california (good to get address and locations ahead of time) then wait in line and let the dmv know you need paper plates to drive your car from california to nevada. you will not be paying registration fees, you will only pay change of ownership (15-30 bucks) and for the paperplates. the above lets you drive the car legally for 14 days till you get it registered in your state.
then once your back in the desert..LOL you get the car smogged, then take all your paperwork to your local dmv and pay the registration fees...and your done. then all you have to worry about is making sure it doesnt get stolen

Some states also have a 3 day trip plate that you can buy and print online if you don't want to goto the dmv. This is VA's https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/d...q.asp

Since your friend bought a car from the same area, and I imagine since you didn't mention it that your friend is local to you, why don't you ask him?

HT Marketplace and search by region... Southern CA and Northern CA. You will see parts threads as well, but there are a lot of cars being sold too.
