Default Help me solve problems with starting my Civic

I have a strange problem with my car that I hope someone can help me with. When I start the car when it's cold, it cranks really slow at first then it speeds up and the car starts. If I immediately turn it off and restart it, everything is fine. Anyone know what's up? It's not the battery or the alternator. Starter, maybe?

Try waiting til the check engine light goes out. Then start.

Yea it could be your starter, because mine in my car started doing that and two days after it started it wouldnt start at all,it would engage but wouldnt turn over the engine at all,i went to my local auto supply store and had them test it and it was bad,i bought a new starter and it has been fine since then.

Yes - Exactly what M12 said

The gas pump needs time to pump the gas through the line and to the enginge so next time you start your car turn the key to the last click and wait till you hear a click or just wait till the CEL goes out and start your car.

You should have no problem from now on...

unless it is your starter then you just need to replace it.

Did that. Didn't help. Must be the starter going bad.

HOW interesting, cuz the same thing happened to my car las year. I'm not shure if we have the same problem, but what i could tell you too do is, if you press on the gas b4 you start the car, dont. Or try just keep starting it and let it rest for like 5 minutes, and it probebly should start [ That's what it did ]. Or try looking at ur spark plugs, they could be weak if u had them for a long time. Good luck at starting it.

Hope this stuff helped.

Hi ekimmel

Kinda off the subject but I have an 88 rx7 T2 also. I see in your sig that you are gonna put a 20b in yours. Where did you get your motor? My 13B is dead and needs a transplant

Thanks in advance,
Nate
