your alternator is weak its not working properly and there fore its not supplying the power to make the bulbs bright as when you gas it when you gas it then it spins faster and more power is made

If it not a major change in the brightness, don't worry about it. It is pretty normal. With alot of the cars I've owned, I've noticed the headlights dim a tiny bit at idle.
If its a big difference, then check your grounds, alternator, and consider possibly replacing the battery as well, if its old.

what he said.
things that will cause the lights dim at idle.
ground wires
battery - especially if it cranks a little slower
alternator - doubtful it's totally bad though if the lights brighten up when you accelerate.
check in that order.

Ground wires could definitely effect it, as well as bad battery. Alternator is the big thing though, check all the small easy stuff first, and then check the alternator.

if your alternator is bad, then you have worse things to worry about than if your engine is losing power, like "will my car start the next time i turn the key?"

Awesome, if it's not the alternator. It's definitely bad grounds, check all your grounds, if they're faulty, replace them.
