Default Help with GSR!!!

Well yesterday, I did a headgasket change on my GSR motor that's in my hatch without resurfacing the head. It had overheated a while back but i risked it anyways. plugged everything back together and now it won't start. Then found out that i didn't have any compression. The compression is reading around 0-10 in the first two cylinders and around 30-40 in the 3rd and 4th cylinders. Then i took it apart and had the head resurfaced and got another headgasket and redid the timing for the second time. I know for sure that my timing is good and that my headgasket is on the correct way. Then tried starting it up again and it didnt start. I then rechecked the compression and its reading around the same thing as the first time. What could be wrong? I need help ASAP!!!!

Did you blow out the holes in the block that headbolts go into, if theres any oil or coolant in them the bolts will hydrolock and you wont get an accurate torque. any valves stuck open?

head gasket installed correctly? did you actually use a straight edge to check the block? did you spray anything on the headgasket prior to install?

no i didnt blow out the holes in the block, no valves stuck open.

yes headgasket is on correct, didn't use a straight edge to check the block, and didn't spray anything on the headgasket.

i did tighten the little screws on the rockers a little. just by looking at it. no instrament used to measure it though.

Sure your timing isn't 180 degrees off?

Sounds like you may have incorrect torque readings on your head studs. I would clean the threads and re-torque everything.

youve answered your own question. You need to do the proper valve adjustment.
