Help! Extremely low idle and Low Compression?!
Its my girlfriend's 92' civic lx d15.
Last year it had a blown head gasket so that along with the timing belt was replaced. It ran pretty good after that, but the rings were pretty shot so it burns almost a quart of oil every 80 miles. Regardless as long as you watched the oil level it ran pretty good and got about 40 mpg.
Lately the idle has been extremely low (Around 150-200 rpm) when in drive or sometimes while in neutral. Occasionally the car will die when it comes to a quick stop. The plugs had a white residue which i cleaned and spread on a little dielectric grease. Gap was about .044mm
Even though the residue was white, I don't think its burning it because the radiator was full visually to the top. Could the white rez mean its running lean?
When pulling plug 1...the car idles so low it dies
When pulling plug 2...the car barely losses power (good compression)
When pulling plug 3...the car idles so low it dies
When pulling plug 4...the car idles low, but barely holds on
I'm thinking its a lack of compression obviously, but can this be caused by anything other than the motor internally being F*CKED???
HELP SHE WON'T GIVE ME ANY UNTIL I SOLVE THIS OR BUY HER A NEW CAR!
