you need to be a little more specific with your question. and theres no such thing as a d16b, you mean d15b? or D16Z6?

so what exatly are you asking? if you want to know if the tranny and **** will work then yes its all the same. just swap motors and wire up vtec and drive away.

well see the thing is the catalytic converter is plugged becuas on the old motor the previous owner had done a valve job but they forgot to put the valve seals in so the engine burned oil to the point where it was blocked, and on the cx engines you cannot bypass the converter so we found to fix the motor and the converter was about $1500 so i said to hell with that and bought an si vtec motor, so should i just buy a si converter? will the engine hook up to the current wire harness off the cx?
because i need a vehical asap and i know if i dont hook up the new ecu the vtec wont run which is fine for now, i just need to get the new motor in and running

Okay you cannot use anything engine wise, besides sensor. Injectors on CX are smaller then need too, so don't use those. You will need a 4 wire o2 sensor since you are running a p28. jdm d15b comes with a single. Use a SI, DX, EX header foget about the cat for now (unless you need to pass emissions right now), the header will bolt up to your stock exhaust (just in future you can get a ex/si cat and si exhaust). You can use your CX tranny but the gearing is going to be soooooooooo long. 1st gear like 40mph, 2nd like 80 and so on.

wire up the 4wire o2 and vtec and you are pretty much good to go (will need to extend few wires though).

ya when i ordered the motor from japan it has the injectors on it and the o2 sensor, where do i get that off of, a stock si? and i have a greddy cat-back exhaust on it right now so im just gunna have to mod it to fit the new engine? actually it pretty much has everything on it except they cut all the wires so am i fucked or?

use your stock cx harness, just modify it to work (search). It's pretty easy especially if it's 92. O2 wiring is a bitch. You will still need to get a 4 wire o2 and wire it in. d15b runs a 1 wire O2, p28 look for 4 wire.

Since you already got an aftermarket exhaust you will need to get a cat or testpipe, to fill in the gap between the header and the exhaust.

so if i dont wire in the new ecu and leave the cx in, will the car run? and if it does then i can just leave the old o2 sensor in until i change the ecu correct?

It will run but not healthy, defently not healthy enought to pass emissions, and prolly will result in damage to the engine. CX engine draws less air, uses smaller injectors. That ecu will let the car run but it will either run really lean or really rich. Either way not good.

his car is OBD1 so it should already have a 4 wire O2. BTW what year is the car all 92 civics came pre wired for VTEC (chassis harness) regardless of the trim. just get a harness from a D16z6 and use the cx until you can get that one or if your car i 93+ then just keep the stock harness and wire VTEC up.

just use a cat off any 88-00 civic and the manifold/ collector pipe off the D15B you got.

yeah I don't remember what exactly size they are but they are considerably smaller then 240cc. Around like 180cc.

I'd say find the d16 harness, probably the easiest route for ya.
