help asap plaese. blow-by issue
ok so here is my problem. i leterally just bought the car a little over a week ago. heres what is done to it.
B20b block
Je 12.5:1 pistons
Eagle rods
Acl race bearings
Arp hardware
Balanced and knife edged ls crank
Mugen oil pan
Greddy ls/b20vtec conversion kit
B16b ( ctr ) head
Skunk2 tuner2 cams
Skunk 2 valve springs and retainers
Aem true time cam gears
Aebs intake manifold port matched to head and tb
Aebs throttle body 78mm
Hondata intake manifold gasket
Aem 3” hybrid intake
Aem 3” bypass valve
Walboro 255 fuel pump
Rc 440cc injectors
Hondata s300 tuned by jeff evans on 93 octane 220whp 157ftlbs
now that you know whats done to the car.. i has about 8-12k on the new build.. i was told by the performance shop by me that im experiencing a lot of blow-by.. this shop is called eshift performance. when the car is running, i take out the dip stick and smoke comes out.. and it durns a good amount of oil. this is the first time this has ever happened to me with a car. i am currently not running an oil catch can or breather. wasnt on it when i bought it. is it bc my motor is experiencing a lot of crankcase pressure or are my piston rings shot? will a catch can or breather help my situation help or am i ***'d. any info can really help me.

Re: help asap plaese. blow-by issue
I think it's caused by a distinct lack of caps at the start of sentences (helps make it easier to read, I'm not going to whine about comma placement and crap this isn't English class) and the Mugen oil pan. Yup, the Mugen oil pan. When you pull the pan you don't have to drain the oil since it looks like its a dry sump system. After pulling the pan drive it around a bit and post back when you're done.
seriously--
It could be a crappy build job. Has anyone else had a bad experience with that shop you bought the Civic from?

Try a can of 'restore'.
Remember its only temporary... and only band-aids cylinder walls, and maybe valve guides.
If its something else it won't work, and you'll have to look into it some more later anyway (pulling the head at least; could be valve seat wear?)

try putting in a couple drops of oil before you do the compression test and if the number rises from the original taken it needs rings.

MAYBE.... when they did the build they used stock pistons and not JE. "IF" they used stock pistons the maybe the rings are in need of replacing!

ok so i pulled the motor out yesterday in about 4 hours. not bad for my first time ever doing it. and today i pulled the head off and noticed that cylinder 2 and 3 had an three inch crack going down the cylinder wall. im actually pretty pissed. so here ia another question.. should i gt a new block and stay with the b20/vtec or do a ls/vtec? what are your guys opinions on this? keep in mind im probably going all motor. 240whp range!!
