Default help 97 civic ex d16y8

i toke my car in to the shop and had a new timeing belt put on it ran good for one to two days now it will not start 1/2 the time and when it is runing it nor tack up above 2k rpm i have tryed coil pulgs and wires

Who did the timing belt? Reputable shop?

Sounds like they didn't put a new tensioner on it or didn't tighten it right, it slipped a few teeth, threw the valves off, and you coooked 'em.

When they changed the timing belt, they did the tensioner too, right?

Either way, your timing belt slipped because of stupidity in your shop and roasted your head.

Don't worry, Y8 heads aren't expensive though .

I'd pull that head then give that shop a moral beat down in front of customers.

EDIT:
Well before the mental *** whooping tell them what happened and see if they'll make it right.

thank you for the help i pulled it apart today and i fund there is 1/2 inch of play before the camshaft pulley moved is this normal if not how many tooth timing belt does the d16y8 need
