help..
hey guy's im new to this forum and i just needed some guidence ( sorry for spelling )
ok i have a 92 civic dx with
-d16z6 motor
-stock everything else.
ok first of all, the motor when running for a long time feels like its choking on gas then it dies and i have to wait till the motor is cold before i start it.
my throttle cable is sticky so its not accurate at all.
my vtec doesnt even work, i have no clue why maybe i need a new solinoid, im not sure.
i have a p28 computer, but my map sensor on my throttle body is melted so i used the stock firewall map sensor, also my throttle positon sensor is melted.
i dont know what i should do to fix my problems, or where i should start. i heard d-seires motors can take turbos and such, and i want to look into that. first i want to know what i should do. then work my way up from there.
please feel free to leave anything, so i can fix this car. and make it worth keeping and having fun with.

Re: help..
The MAP sensor and TPS are extremely important for your engine to run properly. Replace the damaged sensors with new ones ASAP.
Does your CEL work? If not, fix it and pull all of the codes from the ECU.

Re: help..
CEL=check engine light
did you wire up VTEC when you swapped in the D16Z6?

Re: help..
21 VTEC spool solenoid valve
10 IAT - intake air temperature sensor (sometimes this one comes up)
but mostly 21..
what kind of manifold should i get with a good throttle, throw in some injectors? with a new fuel rail?

Re: help..
high pressure fuel rails are wasted $$$ unless you're making a ton of power.
code 21 explains why VTEC doesn't work. once again, did you wire VTEC?
for the manifold, i've heard great things about the Edelbrock PerformerX. However, I recommend getting something like an OBD1 B18 (60mm) throttle body and just getting your intake manifold ported. A skunk2 throttle body which is 70mm is not necessarily good because there is a point where the throttle body is too big. 60mm would probably be optimal.
and you don't just "throw in" injectors. you only want to supply as much fuel as you can burn.
before you do any of these modifications, you really need to search and read up on it. i read up on most stuff for my car (performance wise) for months before i decide what i want.
