I have everything to swap a d16z6 into my 92 dx except the map sensor on my dx motor is mounted on the firewall and the d16z6 map sensor is supposed to mounted on the throttle body. Can i just make a block off plate to cover the opening on the throttle body and tee off another vaccum line so i can use the dx map sensor? I dont have a d16z6 map sensor and need to put this motor in tomorrow. Thanks guys

 

Come on someone has to know. I searched and came up with nothing. I need to know ASAP as im putting the motor in tomorrow and i dont want to buy a OEM map sensor for a 160 bucks because im going to be switching to a gm 3 bar next week for my turbo build.

 

I'll say yes. Depending on the computer, it might not run 100% of what it should be, but it will still be 95%.

 

IM putting a a6/z6 motor in with a p28 computer

 

I don't know anything about OBD1, and I don't know anything about D series. But I do know that it will run.

 

TWO DIFFERENT WAYS TO DO IT. 1. UNPLUG HARNESS OFF STOCK MAP SENSOR AND EXTEND WIRES TO THE ONE ON THROTTLE BODY OR 2. TEE INTO ANY VACUUM SOURCE OFF INTAKE MANIFOLD USING OLD MAP SENSOR.
