Default Hello - New guy here

Hey guys I'm new here. Although not new at 3geez.com. Check out my 3gee Accord at http://www.cardomain.com/id/iceman707.

I recenty got a 93 civic DX coupe for a daily driver and have done some mods to it: 10mm Neuspeed plug wires, Bosch Platinum 4 Plugs, Otto racing catback (no fartcan sound here), Polished Short shifter, Polished shift ****, and lightweight aluminum 14" stock 3gee Accord SE-i wheels (16lbs each with tires). I have a rebuilt d16z6 head sitting around waiting for more parts to complete a mini-me swap. I'm getting a stainless steel header and aftermarket intake manifold for the z6 head...as well as new z6 timing belt, y8 headgasket, and z6 waterpump. I heard this swap raises my compression for more power along with the availability of VTEC. Can you still run a turbo with compression this high? Perhaps a small turbo at low psi?

This car is great being only 1.5L. I can outrun most stock 4cyl, 6cyl cars out there with only the mods I have. I'm anxious as to what the mini-me swap can do. Next would be an EX tranny with a lightweight flywheel, carbon/kevlar clutch, performance lsd, and lightweight driveshafts. Then suspension upgrades, koni adjustables all around on Eibach springs, beefier sway bars & strut bars, including polyurethane bushings all around since my rubber ones are pretty much shot. Then brakes, I read I could use 90+ integra 4 wheel discs or 99-00 civic si disc brakes and bolt it on with no problem? Of course bigger brakes add more weight so that's when I need to up the power with a B,K, or H series swap. But for now I'm starting out small. I still have my 3gee Accord to complete after all. Feel free to comment on the mods I've done so far. Pics of my car should be up soon.

Welcome to H-T. Make friends with the search, make light of the haters, and you should be good.

Just a note: your Accord probably won't be well-recieved at this site. Clean minimalistic cars is the overall H-T theme. and the jdm bandwagon is nuts here...

Yeah I'm going for a clean look with the civic. The 3gee is just an experiment with my fiberglassing work. The civic will eventually be painted gunmetal grey pearl with a slight gold pearl sheen over it when the sun hits. The interior would either be a red/black or red-orange/dark grey theme with self-made custom fiberglass pieces painted the same color as the car.

Hey guys, I got a weird problem with my front wheels being really close to the rear part of the front fenders than the front part where the bumper is. I got the car this way and the handling seems fine and the alignment is fine. It just looks weird having a bigger gap in front of the tire than the rear. Both sides are like this. How can I fix this?

*BUMP* for another question since I don't see it mentioned on the site:

My new remanufactured d16z6 head doesnt come with a cam gear or distributor. I know I can use my stock d15b7 intake manifold for now, but can I use the d15b7 distributor and cam gear? Or do I have to go out and buy these? From what I can see, the distributors are all the same, not sure about the cam gear. T.I.A.

your front wheels are toed out. get it aligned. won't notice a change in steering if both are same toe degree, but get this fixed, it will give your tires an odd wear if you don't.

nah my wheels should get to the center of the wheel wells if i turn slightly, but the wheels are still closer to the rear of wheel wells than the front. i might have to check the control arms and forks tomorrow...making sure the previous owner didn't re-install any of them backwards.
