Headlights on 2001 civic not working?
I have a 2001 Civic and my lowbeam headlights are dead. The highs work fine though. When I turn on the lowbeams they still make the clicking noise. I checked the bulbs and they are fine. I even went as far as to change them. Still nothing. I used to have aftermarket projector headlights with an H1 HID kit. I had to swap the stock 15 amp fuses to 20 amp as recommended by the company that produced the kit. I left the 20 amp fuses in when I put my stock headlights back in. My lights worked fine for the first two days and then they went dead. Should I try to put 15 amp fuses back in or something else? I need help ASAP because I can't drive my car at night. Thanks.

if it's still under warrenty take it back to Honda like 98civichtchback said. If not check voltage on the lowbeam side. you might have smoked the wires causing it to have and open. but first check voltage at the fuse on both sides first. It will tell you if you have the problem before or after the fuse.

Thank you captin obvious. This is a tech website. I asked the question here for a reason. I know I could take it back to the dealer. I want to see if there is something I can do myself so I'm not stuck with a huge bill. I no longer have a warranty. So I would like a reply from someone who doesn't have their head stuffed up their a$$. Thanks

Why don't you try putting the 15A Fuse back in. And going around calling people
dumb ***'s after they try and help won't you get you anywhere. And also calling
someone a smart *** or get there head out of there *** is an understatement for
you. Any **** would have replaced everything they had when it was the same
before. So keeping the 20A Fuse in with the stock Low Beam unit
is on your part. Case SOLVED.

Re: (si_racer)
First of all having a 20apm fuse in place of the stock 15 won't make a difference. Second, telling someone the obvious to take their car back to the dealer is NOT helping. Just for the **** of it, last night I replaced the 20 amp fuses with the 15. Still dead. I'm not going to sit here argue back and for with internet *****. This IS a "tech" website so thought I'd get some good advice. Don't bother replying unless you know what you're talking about.

ok... so whats wrong with taking it to the dealer? they'll fix it for free. did you want to pay someone to fix it? do you have something against free things? we dont know EVERYTHING about your car so dont bitch.
so why did you come here to bitch and whine about your problems instead of doing the obvious like you said? lets jus think about that.
