Default headgasket leaking or blown someone approve what i found.

ok past couple days i have had this horrid sweet smell in my exhuast, very familiar smell from when a friend blew a headgasket in his dc2, so today i finally got a chance to take a look, pulled the plugs, very little oil on all 4 plugs also found i am running lean as ****, plugs smelt sweet also. checked the coolant (drained and drained the coolant resivior) had some oil in it. so i flushed the coolant system and refilled it. planning on checking it again to see how much oil i am actually mixing with coolant.

i am leaning towards the idea that i have a leaking headgasket, anyone wanna back me up on my findings and sorry i havent been able to a compression nor leakdown test, i'll have it done friday tho.

and for sake of not making another thread for the same topic, i know that by running a thinner headgasket i can boost compression, so while i am most likely going to be changing my headgasket anyone want to point me in the direction of a headgasket that will boost my compression just a little btw i am running a jdm d15b.

thanks everyone for you imput but please no bullshit.

You need to just buy a new head gasket.

And for get about boosting your compression the only real way to get power out of the d series is fI boost it

i'm not trying to get much more HP 5-10 would be fine for me, the sol is just my daily driver now days so i'm not looking to dump 2k into a good turbo setup. i just want it to be a little peppier and since it has to be changed to begin with why not go ahead and put a better headgasket on.

You can get a thinner HG if you want. Cometics sells them and a couple of other companies, I just can't think of them right now.... Just make sure you follow the proper sequence when taking the head off.. GL
