Header Glow Problems
Just got the 2.2 running after a tps failure. Now my headers glow, its smoking from somewhere, but these are new headers so there not worn out peices of shi*. I heard this can be caused by......retarded timing..running rich or lean....spark plugs??? I dont know which.. At the same time the both hoses from the rad are pressurized like a **** and feel like there gonna pop whats this from. where do i start ? Can't drive it cause it boggs out as i open the throttle.. Need expert help!!!!

wuts up man I live im palm springs too welcome to HT
usually glowing headers means you are running lean. very lean. Or timing could be really messed up. Set it to stock. I assume you are talking about an H22 in a hatch? Is there a check engine light? I can only help u so much because i'm not into H22s that much...
-Is the motor stock? What kind of smoke is it? exhaust leak maybe? Probably a leak then... tell me this stuff first then well see what can be done..
-Also, line up the cam gears to TDC, whether they are stock or aftermarket and see what happens. check if cam gears are in sync with the crank. If the cam timing is correct, set it to tdc and check the clearance on the exhaust valves. Should be able to get at least a .006 feller gauge in there.
-Check your 02 sensors. It could also be a clogging (like clogged cat) . Unbolt your header and see if it does it.
-What's your fuel pressure at? check fuel filter, fuel pump (fuel components).
-To some people, bent exhaust valves means shitty idle, engine running like **** and header glowing.
too lean = too much heat = detonation = engine goes to ****
-check spark plugs to see if you are running rich or lean. black=rich, white=lean
too lean = too much heat = detonation = engine goes to **** basically
