Noo, 600 is too little grit.
This can be done by using 1000 and 1200. Have to use that fine of a grit.
Start by wetsanding with 1000, then finish it up with 1200, and afte all that you use a rubbing compound to finish them off.

Hardware store? You can also just buy a bottle of plastX plastic polish and it will do the same thing but with less work. Its about 7 dollars a bottle. -ejoner

If you use sandpaper, then use a polishing compound then finish off with handglaze, Any autobody/paint shop should have 1000+ paper, I have a stockpile in my shop

Nah, ive done this technique a handful of times before, 600 is too rough. Lowest id start with is 800, and work up to 1500, wetsanding. Has given me awsome results

I know, it was just the way you worded it the opposite way for degrees of grit.

Re: (The Real Lazarus)
Squeeze some plastx onto a paper or bath towel and start rubbing the lights with it then just wipe it off with another towel or a microfiber cloth. You might have to repeat the process a few times to achieve the best shine.

thanks ejoner! man.... i went everywhere just to find 1,000 to 2,000 grit paper........ i only found four sheets of 1,500 u guys think thats good enough for tail lights and head lights? wet sand side to side and up and down not circular thats what i was told. for 15 mins. dry. then apply plastx on to paper or bath towel and start rubbing then wipe off with another towel. and buff? with the ball and drill. don't want to mess up just want to get it done once and have no hassle of doing it again
