haze on head lights?

haze on head lights?
does any body kno what the yellow haze over the light is and how i can remove it. my left light is clear but the the right has the haze

if heard that you can use fine wet sanding paper like 1200 and then using rubbing compound to make it nice n clear once again. but im not too sure about this method

I've done it. It works great. My headlights are clear as hell now.

I tried rubbing compound on mine and it didn't help at all... I just went ahead and got new headlights [one of mine was really bad when I bought the car].

i had this problem with my Lexus headlights- water sand with 1200 grit sand paper , then water sand with 2000 grit sandpaper , then use a fine cut rubbing compound , then polish with car polish and wax. Works great 
but if its to severe nothing will help, you will have to replace them.

My passenger side one is still cloudy as heck. I need new ones, but can't justify spending the money on them yet.

i pcked up some stuff at an autoparts store that was in a little white bottle... it was like a brown/grey substance.. and it was made to remove the haze on lights and plastics...
but it only kinda of worked... i want to try that rubbing compound

the rubbing compound is made by 3M...worked wonders....theres a thread some where on here about that...ill try to find it and post later....
process is
first buff with 3M rubbing compound
2nd buff with BLUE MAGIC PLASTIC POLISH
3rd buff with BLUE MAGIC METAL POLISH
once your done and your headlights still have some oxidation...wetsand using 1000-1500 grit...i used 2000 and it did nothing....
hopefully this helps you out
all products were bought at kragen auto store...
process is

I still have yet to find a store that carries Meguiar's ScratchX. I tried AutoZone, PepBoys, Wal-Mart, Advanced Auto Parts and O'Reily's. Nothing...

just did my lights over the weekend. wet sanded with 2000 grit paper twice, went over lights with body scrub, then 2 coats of wax......mmmm, good as new.

its just dirt and gunk that builds up over time try using chrome polish and a SOS pad scrub it good the buff it op it will be clear again

I've tried everything in this thread and then some on mine....nothing worked. I think the 96-98 headlights are just prone to hazing. Buy some CTR knockoffs....look better anyway and super cheap.
