the HB is nearing completion of bodywork/paint, engine question now
before I drop the B16 in, should I go ahead and while I am having the flywheel resurfaced have them lighten it, and if so, how much taken off. what are your guys take in this subject? what ever is doable with sacrificing the strength of the wheel? dunno...........

Before you drop in the engine you should already have an LSD, Cromoly Flywheel and at least a Stage 2 clutch.
Don't lighten the flywheel (even though possible) purchase an aftermarket you will be much happier with reliability and weight of the flywheel.

Re: the HB is nearing completion of bodywork/paint, engine question now (Spade)
hmmm, interesting arguement Spade. I have always lightened my flywheels in my VW Beetles (air cooled mind you) so I was gonna go where I was familier, but the reliability issue is a good point. If in that case I will probobally just put it together as is and save up for a flywheel. I already have a ACT 2600lb clutch set to go in it. BTW I am currently going to run the y1 tranny that came in my car when i got it, yep it was converted to cable............
anybody else have thoughts on this?

Here's the thing. If you get the flywheel lightened. You will never end up buying a lightweight one because that one will "be good enough".
At least, that's how I am.
