Axles have been removed right? Keep trying. Get underneath to push up, and have somebody else pull it away from the motor from above.

Are you just trying to get it off. IF so just wiggle it a little bit. It helps to have two ppl because one can be kind of underneath either prying a little or wiggling the transmission from side to side while also pulling it away from the engine. If you are trying to get the tranny back on the bolts will push everything together just tighten them in order.

On the 2 sides of either the block or the tranny, where the block and tranny meet, there are 2 steel dowel rods that are meant to line up. Make sure those aren't damaged or bent because if they are, that is your problem. That is stopping the tranny from going in flush.

Yep, been there.
If it doesn't just slide off then it's a bolt(s)
