I need help with an '01 tranny swap ASAP PLEASE HELP...
Ive got the tranny separated from the block but there appears to be no room to drop it below... to lift it upwards i need to get it out of the block completely but theres no room to do that! Do i have to take the whole motor out? please help!

To put my tranny back on I tried to use a regular jack. It kept falling off the jack so I grabbed my brother and told him to bench the tranny while I lined it up. Worked like a charm. Bench that sucka, can't be more than 100 lbs. Also becareful lining up the tranny and block because you dont want it resting on the shaft or you could cause serious damage.

no you do not need a cherry picker.
OH YEAH.... I put my tranny on a 1"x8"x12" piece of wood and that let me manhandle it while it was sitting on top of my car jack. Just putting th etranny on a car jack is hard to move and balance and also kind of dangerous.
if you jack the car up enough, you can slide the trannyout and back in without much work.
the hard part is lifting it up to mate to the engine
or even just getting it up onto a jack that is under the engine as well
oh well, good luck bro, patience is a virtue!

you guys dont seem to understand. this is not a 92-00 car. '01s are different. without the tranny in the car, the engine cannot support it self. I have the engine on a jack right now, locked in place. If i line up the tranny and get the bolts in.... it will not stand up, it will fall over. PLUS if i put the jack under the car to hold up the tranny / engine... or bench them both, i will be in the way of the subframe which needs to be put up next! I think the only way is to get an engine hoist

Never done an 01 but it sounds like the engine hoist would really help out. I use mine instead of a floor jack all the time. it rules. borrow one if ya can.
