have ecu question
can someone please help me. i have a 93 civic 4 door with an automatic. i bought it with a sohc zc swap in it. but it still has factory ecu. should i change the ecu? could the stock ecu be limiting the performance of my zc?

i'd say that the automatic tranny is limiting waay more than an ecu can ever help, so i wouldn't worry about it. in total actuality, the ecu is perfect if you have the 1.6 sohc vtec ZC engine, and the car is an EX. you failed to mention that, though. if i was you, i'd do a 5-speed conversion (Si or EX tranny), D16Z6 head (assuming that you have the 1.6 non-vtec sohc ZC engine) and run a manual P28 ecu (ecu from a 92-95 civic EX or Si 5-speed). just my .02

-edit- i noticed your sig about it being a dx. there's nothing performance-oriented about your ecu's fuel maps. the easiest (and most logical/cost effective) thing for you to do would probably do a mini-me swap (D16Z6/D16Y8 head on what you already have, and run an auto P28 (ecu from a 92-95 civic EX automatic.)
i might know a guy who has that ecu for cheap if you're interested.
