I just bought a hatch, it's a DX, manual locks and whatnot. The trunk is unlocked, but I can't open it. The old owner said it just stopped working a few days ago (I believe him, he's not lying..).

Is this a common thing? How can I fix it? If I turn the key the thingy goes up/down (that tells you if it's locked or unlocked), but the latch to actually pop it open doesn't move. I was grabbing it pretty hard and it's just stuck...Is there any way I can open it from the inside or something? I was shocked that there isn't even a lever to pop it open... I thought every car had this lol :/

Hmm, that is a difficult situation to be in. You could see if you can pry off the interior panel enough to reach your hands in there to unlock it. The panel has two plastic pins holding it on the bottom (which you will not be able to get to with the hatch closed) but the rest are just pop-in/pull out pins which you should be able to get off. The little pole that moves up and down could have come off of the locking mechanism and gotten stuck or something.
