Hatch VS Coupe LBS, other than optional equipment, where does the weight come from?
Other than power everything in a EJ1, where does it's weight over the hatch come from? C pillar? Seat area? Where? Trunk?
I'm one of those RARE people who prefers the looks of the coupe to the lightness of the hatch, even moreso, I prefer to have all of my options, and will probably add MORE pound inducing items, like rear discs, ect. And I will add performance robbing parts like AC and PS.
But but still, you can't deny thay my B16/LS tranny 15.7 (COMPLETELY stripped just for track) would have been 14.9 in a CX hatch, completely stripped.

The moonroof assembly weighs a little over 50lbs. The EX has a larger fuel tank than a CX, bigger brakes, front sway bar, power windows, power locks, power steering, cruise control, standard radio & speakers, standard A/C, larger steel wheels, etc.
The '92-95 coupe has a longer wheelbase and a longer rear overhang, so there is more material there. The coupe has a metal rear deck and more metal in the rear seat area than the hatch. The trunk lid sure seems like it weighs more than the hatch tailgate. The hatch makes that up with a longer roof panel and larger rear quarter windows though. Really, when you compare similarly equipped hatch and coupe models (i.e. DX trim), there really isn't that much of a difference (2224lbs DX coupe vs. 2178lbs DX hatch)
