Hard clicking noise (like metal to metal)

my car has a hard clicking noise like metal to metal.. when the revs are at between 2,000 and 3,000. then stop and start againg after 4,000,,, if I release and punch the trothel I can hear it clearly... I had the valves checks and timing belt and they are ok... what it could be.?

ohh.. is a civic 93 with mini-me

Check timing and make sure your not detonating.

This is just a thought...try advancing your timing from stock 14' to 16' and see if that stops the detonation. My engine has high compression and ran smoother when advanced. Just a thought though.
