H22A2 Swap in a 93 del Sol Si.

H22A2 Swap in a 93 del Sol Si.
Looking for any information you guys can pass on about the subject.
I own a '93 del Sol Si and while I've done some minor modifications (I/H/E, 75 hp shot, zex cam, aem pulleys and gear, slatertake) - it is getting up there in miles (129k). I figure the transmission is gonna go soon (stupid AT) and I'll need to replace it. So, instead of sticking with the crappy D16Z series engines, I'd part out all the stuff from the engine and sell it and put the money forth for an H22A2 (the JDM model).
Now, I don't autoX, so don't tell me it's a shitty motor for AutoX (this I know, front-end weight). And I've found mounts at hasport.com and some technical information, but I'm looking for something more in-depth.
So, can anyone help me?
(by the way, nice board you guys have here!)

Re: H22A2 Swap in a 93 del Sol Si. (kyleb)
welcome to the H22 plan club..(hahah i just made that up). Im planning on a H22 swap also and the first thing you need to get set up is your suspension. You definately need to beef up the suspension. And what is a slatertake???

You said your car is an AT right? Lots of work dude (but you already know that)
You could try using a tranny from an accord instead of the JDM tranny
This would take away a lot of the Torque steer.
We just did that swap into a 96 accord 5 speed
4th gear 160 mph 5000rpm (V-tec switch is at 5200)(Spoon re-chip)
So that should give you an idea of the speeds
as for 1/4 mile your looking at 13.5 - 13.00 easy
As for the mounts
I'm a blank for the name of the kit but there is a mount set out there that comes with the front re-bar brace with the front mount on it for the H2.2 into a E J so i'm sure they make one for a EG

Interesting idea...I don't really want the AT though, and I'm willing to take it to a good shop (a guy near me used to race for Acura, and now races for Audi) and pay them top dollar to perform the swap. The motor itself, I figure, should cost me around $2,500 (from: http://www.hondamotorsonline.com or Evan's Honda Specialist junkyard) and the labor, well, I'm not sure - but I'm estimating $1,600-2,000. Sound about right? Then the clutch and linkage, but I can get that cheap.
13s with a simple motor swap and still keeping my Sol? That's what I like to hear.

Yeah, I knew I'd need to beef up the suspension...I'm thinking Tokico Illuminas or KYB AGX shocks with Neuspeed Sport Springs (race is like 2.0 - 2.5 inches, and my Sol will drag with the H22A!).
And what is a slatertake???
It's a custom CAI that's easily made from steel instead of aluminum (conducts heat less) and laid over with many coats of ceramic paint. Works much better than Iceman/AEM commercial intakes, and costs about $45.

just look for the whole front clip (92-94 JDM prelude)
I was talking about the accord 5 speed tranny for your sol
your going to have to use the mid shaft from a accord anyways
so just use the whole thing shafts and all (front brakes and suspention) or find the front brakes from a 89-90 JDM CR-X SI-r II there the same size as the lude and will bolt right onto your sol.
The only thing you have going for you is your car is OBD1 so no need for a jummper
And i hope you realize once you pu that motor in there's no turning back.
well up till they cut your shifter box
