H22 or B16?
Waiting for tax return to come in then off to purchase a new engine. Lookin @ the B16a Sir motor, or someone threw me the idea of going with a H22? Its for a 97' 4 Dr Civic.
Any info on the H22 swap would be cool so i can have a better idea of what iam getting myself into.

They dont belong in the same catagory.
The price range is near eachother either.

they come up with about the same price but when u add in all the custom axles and mounts that u need to put the h22 tranny in and i heard the tranny is a bitch to get in, and with all the fabracation u have to do it would be cheaper and easy to go with the b16. ur love the b16

Id go with an H22. Just takes a little more modification to get it in. You'll be happy you did. Torque is your friend.

B16 is meant to go into an EG chassis. H22 is not.
The B16 sits forward, the correct way, and a H22 sits backwards towards the firewall.
H22 is slightly heavier than the B16.
H22 requires custom motor mounts and axles. B16 does not.
I could go on and on, but if its going to be a daily driver, i would not go with a H22.

I have a JDM H22 in my daily driver and it is great. No problems what so ever. Just make sure you do **** right the first time and research before throwing parts together. I'm sure many other h22eg owners can chime in.

yeah, you can't even begin to compare the two really. IMO b16s are a little overrated. yeah, you got 160hp, okay. you can freeway battle alright (altho the idea is pretty stoopid in itself) but off the line an LS or even a Z6/Y8 thats done correctly would give you a run for your money.
h22 = torque master, gsr = all around motor, and if you're gonna boost, boost either of those two motors, or if you're looking to save some cash boost an LS. Besides, LS is a better candidate to boost than a b16.
hope this helps
