D15 out, H22 on the way in. Few questions.
Hi everyone. I have done alot of searching and i just have one question. When you guys are doing your H22 swaps in the EG, did you put the motor in from the bottom, or from the top? Which do you think is easier?
Thank you.
Thank you.

well thats how we usually do it...never really tried from the bottom, only back in the days when we had no cherry picker.

Re: (im_poor)
I did my B16 from the top with a picker and I thought it was slightly tricky. The tranny was all up in the passenger side frame rail. I would think that the H22 would be slightly larger then the B16 making it a tighter fit to go through the top. Maybe going through the bottom would be easier. But dont take my word for it. More people that have actually swapped in a H22 should chime in anytime now.

Re: (VG-EG)
Ok, so now you see my dilema. From all of the articles i have read they all say the bottom.
Id say its about 50/50 on this. Thanks for the advice, i will post pictures when i am finished.

Bottom or else you have to do a wicked tilt with tranny first. If you don't want to scratch you engine bay or break off anthing then the bottom.
I like my sex like i do motor swaps being on the bottom .

dropd from the top...but of course i had a multi-link 3 motor lift that runs through- out the entire shop! was a breeze! if i were to do it with a plain ol picker id say bottom!

The bottom always is more efficent. But you'd have to get the car jacked up high as hell if you were doing it without a lift, then you'd have to set it down some around that motor, sounds tricky. But yeah, i feel like i've become the master of dropping a b motor in an eg/dc chassis now, but not without a lot of leaning and readjusting, that big *** h motor sounds like a headache to me.
