gsr ys1 lsd tranny problems and intermediate shaft leaks
okay so i purchased a ys1 gsr tranny off a friend i am running a 93 gsr intermediate shaft seal in the tranny, is the part number diffrent between lsd and non lsd? I am running brand new 96 ls axles and the female driver side axle with the dc male intermediate shaft, not sure if axles/ intermediate shaft are compatible with the tranny? they work but maybe not correctly?
the problems i am having is that the intermediate shaft keeps draining fluid out badly, and i also am having a problem, when i take sharp turns from a stop, release clutch, and press the throttle, the axles begin to make a popping noise and click the wheel as im in the turn. i am running gm syncromesh fluid with rear diff additive mixed in as well. iv heard the popping noise may be because of a bad diff, any help would be great, to find what possibility the problem may be.

The vtec YS1 trannys are all pretty much the same with the exception of the optional lsd diff found only on some jdm models
The gears, and seals are all the same, you should be able to get 92-93 gsr seals and they should fit very nicely

The axle seal has to match the intermediate shaft. Get one for a '94 - '01 Integra. Also if its a YS1 tranny you can swap everything into a hydro case rather than dealing with an aftermarket conversion setup.

and I am aware that the gears are swappable and compatible with hydro cases. I'm just trying to work with what I have, I paid 700 for the ys1 cable lsd trans originally for my ef, but switched it's use to my sol since I ditched the ef project. I'v never messed with gears and dont know if im ready to, and I don't have the time nor money to buy another case and pay someone or do it myself.

you do know the the YS1 shares the same tranny casing as the the hydro units, that new seat should fit fine
