GSR Intake Manny swap
I searched and didnt find anything so i dont think this is true.. but i have a B18C engine and want to get a better intake manny for it. however being that there are the IAB's i was told if i put a diffrent manifold on there that i will throw codes and it will go into limp mode.. can anyone confirm this or disprove it? im sure ill throw a code for the IABs but that wont put it in limp mode will it? Thanks guys...
ps. i was told if i got a new manny i would no longer be able to run my p72 ECU and would have to move to a chipped p28...? any info would be good. thanks

how come? because the IABs compensated for that? also is the fuel trim set up so that when the IABs kick open the ECU adds even more fuel than would typically be added?
also i have never heard of chipping a P72.... only P28s... is it possible? and does it chip just as well as the P28?

any obd1 ecu can be socketed and chipped </TD></TR></TABLE>
what is "low vtec? as far as i know vtec engauges around 4900 and then the IABs are fully open slightly after that... there is no dual stage vtec...? or am i wrong?

Re: GSR Intake Manny swap (doood)
if i run the IABs open at all times, this would have practicaly the same effect as me putting in a aftermarket manifold (at low ends) right? i understand that it wont flow as well, but i could kinda get the feel for what maybe it would be like at lower RPMs??? would i be better off just keeping the stock manny and putting a bigger TB on....? or maybe a larger TB and taking the manny apart and boring it out...?
