Default Can I use a P61 ECU for a P72 swap?

Yeah basically I'm putting a JDM 93-95 B18C into my DA9. I was just wondering if the B17A P61 ECU that I have is capable of running this engine without swapping the intake manifold?

Or is it better to just buy a P72 ECU?

it wont throw a code for the IAB's. however the butterfly's will stay open at all times because there will be no signal to the vaccuum line that closes them below 5700rpms. the butterfly's are just to help with low to mid-range torque, not that big of a deal if they stay open at all times.
and with the p61 the idle might go down real low. other than that it'll work fine.

Even a P72 will not throw a code if the IAB solenoid is disconnected.

Ok, this is very helpful guys.

I already determined on G2IC it's cheaper to buy a skunk2 intake manifold w/o the dual butterflies.

Otherwise I would need to add that solenoid and use the P72, if I want it to run properly, etc.

I acctually couldn't find much info about my P61 ECU anywhere.

So, chipping the ECU wouldn't affect this, either?

the p61 will run fine. it just might idle a little low, i had to borrow one from my friend while i was waiting for my hondata, so trust me. and like i said be4, the butterflies will just stay open at all times, u can barely notice it and it's just to help with low to mid power for driving it daily. skunk2 intake mani is
had it in my last car and loved it for the top end, it just doesn't feel that great low end (then again, what honda does?)
