knock sensor light is on prolly because you are too far advanced and causing it to ping so now the computer is throwing the code and tring to retard it for you.

like all the other guys say, u have to adjust your timing with the service connector jumped. if it is not jumped, the engine will idle faster and be in slightly advanced already. setting timing (non-jumped) will then be off.

first.. it was wired with a single wire... from tower to ecu...
i changed it to double shielded, outside grounded, and doesnt work...

i switched ecu with my friends, his usdm ecu; mine is jdm ecu, and his has knock code on now.. which wasnt on before. and now it wont go away...

could it possibly be the false jdm ecu?

Could it be that your reading you're timing gun wrong.

I also at one point had a bad KS but the performance difference was minimal

Also the KS is only one wire, from the connector right to the ecu, you don't need to make a ground wire for it.

so is the timing gun wrong or me? i mean it flashes and the organge line between 2 other ones shold line up to the line of plastic bottom piece..rite?

bout shielded wire... some say some mite need it so i tried it anywase.. to keep outside wire grounded.. like keeping interference from other things to knock wire i gues

Its the knock sensor. If your sensor is bad the ecu will retard the timing to avoid damaging the engine. If you want, pop a P-28 ecu in there and check the timing, should be right on. P-28 ecu's dont read the knock sensor in case you didn't know.

yes i know and i use to have p28... but im going through state ref with this jdm motor. so........... p72 is the only way to go?

or else they said someone here can chip the ecu not to read knock sensor? im looking towards that if all else fails.

Knock sensors are not that hard to replace/find. Just replace it and use the factory P-72 ecu. I believe the REF will check your ecu to verify which one you are running. You will not pass with a P-28.

yea i heard jdm motors the ecu must be verify by acura as a usdm or something.. but i gues i will check the wire for connection to the sensor.. and use usdm when the knock is replace..

my timing is straight as of now.. and i hit 14.6 2 times... so im hapy with a stock b18c in my si... more to come.. with knock sensor.
