Default Grinding oversized piston rings.

Hey guys.
I have recently bought a 0.5 overbored B16 block for my turbo conversion, so have bought a set of matching NPR piston rings to match.

I have decided to go for more power than i previously wanted, so i have bought a standard bore block for more strength!

I have done some research and some people say that fitting the oversized rings on a OE piston is a terrible idea, but other people, especially the more experienced "older" engine builders say that this was common place years ago, and so long as i get the ring gap correct, then it doesn't matter.

What's the verdict? What's your reasoning behind it?

Thanks

The chances of ending up with rings that are actually round when you're done grinding them are slim to none, never mind that you're going to have a thoroughly miserable time trying to grind the oil rings.

Either get stock rings or overbore the block.
